Traditionally TAB has measured Daily Effective Circulation(DEC) which is an estimate of how many people, on a daily basis, pass by a particular out of home unit. It was standardized for such factors as seasonality, illumination, persons per vehicle, and DOT growth rates. In January of 2010 TAB released its EYES ON audience measurement system which measures the amount of people that actually look at an out of home ad. Groundbreaking in its approach EYES ON, for the first time, gives out of home a true audience measurement system with comparable metrics to other major media.
